Umberto Ambrosoli, President of Banca Aletti (Banco Bpm Group) and the Bpm Foundation , speaking today at the Smart City Italia 2025 event, hosted in Banco Bpm's Sala delle Colonne, recalled how " for us, proximity is a choice, a model of how to be a bank . A model that we advocate and that, even in recent months, we defend tooth and nail because we believe it is essential for our cities and for the country. In this logic, I believe that in a smart city, there must be room for the banking biodiversity necessary to guarantee competition and a plurality of offerings for customers . The community bank model, which we are inspired by, has proximity at its core. Being present: in neighborhoods as well as in the provinces, in relationships with SMEs, with families, and local institutions. Close, even to those customer requests that do not allow for the best margins.
